CSE Drainage
Patch Lining Installation for Drain Repair.
Preparation:
Before we install any patch repair we must first clean and unblock the drain or pipe to remove any debris that's gathered around or near the damaged or collapsed pipe and install our drain repair.
Once cleaned we then use the CCTV survey camera to locate the damaged section and get a measurement for the patch line Installation.
Once the measurement has been taken we are then ready to cut the patch to the required measurement for the pipe/drain size. A normal patch repair can measure up to 1m in length. This allows us to give good coverage over the defect before and after the damaged or collapsed drain.
Patch cut and in place we are ready to mix the two part resins together and start the wetting out process. The matting is a glass fiber weave, once soaked in resin will set rock hard.
After the resin is applied to both sides, we then roll the matting around the inflatable packer. There are specific packer's used for the pipe size in question which is first wrapped in cling film and taped at the end. This film protects the packer from being cover in resin. There are also lines on either end of the packer which indicate the maximum width the patch can be cut to.
Once rolled around the packer the patch is secured in place by either tie wire, or in this case elastic bands. Securing the matting is very important, its stops the matting moving up or down the packer. A little air is now introduced into the packer to secure the patch in place. We now attach the air line and rods and push into place over the damaged section of pipe or drain to start the drain repair process.
Once in place, the packer is inflated to the correct pressure and monitored for any loss in pressure.
After the patch line has cured the packer is deflated and removed from the pipe. The CCTV survey camera is placed into the line and the patch repair checked.
